Gambia president elect, Adama Barrow is set to be sworn in at Gambia Embassy in Senagal. This was made known through his twitter handle. According to him he said ”I would like to inform you that the Inauguration Ceremony is going to take place at the Gambian Embassy in Dakar, Senegal”
This moved followed the refusal of the ousted president, Yaya Jammeh to leave office after he faulted the last election that brought Barrow in as fraudulent.
The United Nations Security Council has gotten the nod from west African state to launch military intervention if the ousted president refuses to handover power. Military personnel from Nigeria, Ghana and Senegal have dispatched troops and fighter jets to Gambia’s border with Senegal.
Meanwhile, Gambia’s army chief, Ousman Badjie, has said the military will not attack the troops coming to the country
